Working with people to enhance their capability is a surefire way of improving business operations. In this case 4C Associates carried out capability reviews of around 175 individuals, identifying key gaps and making recommendations on how to enhance capability and close those gaps.

Based on Kirkpatrick evaluation, we were able to provide clear evidence that the Learning Pathways we developed and rolled out across the board, have embedded new learning and behaviours delivering tangible business value.

the Business challenge

As part of their journey to achieve a step-change in the capability of their commercial and supply chain team, the company required support to undertake a review of its capability framework and modify where required, undertake a full review of their Supply Chain Directorate against the capability framework (c. 175 individuals) and analyse and document findings and make recommendations for capability development to support the move towards a best-in-class function managing critical supply chain risks and delivering key business outcomes.

Our Approach

4C Associates carried out a Capability Assessment and Development Programme which delivered:

Review and redesign of the Capability Framework with revised role target profiles and skills matrix for the team, based on best practice business management and learning and development thinking

Capability reviews for c.175 individuals with clear recommendations on how to enhance capability and close key identified gaps – providing a basis for building capability and moving towards more effective business operations

Review of operating model, to identify key enabling processes, systems and governance structures and build plan for change in line with priorities

Development of 7 learning pathways based on a blended learning approach for the technical and behavioural elements within the new Capability Framework

Ongoing coaching and mentoring to support the embedding of processes and capability development
