BACKGROUND
A government-funded, industry-led UK programme was established to demonstrate the commercial viability of next-generation clean energy technology through the development of a prototype facility.
4C was selected to provide day-to-day commercial and procurement capability and lead the development of the supporting supply-chain approach.
the challenge
The programme needed to establish a new delivery organisation as a capable and informed client, with the right commercial processes, governance and partnerships in place from the outset.
With several critical procurements approaching, the organisation required immediate operational support as well as a commercial framework capable of scaling with the programme’s long-term ambitions.
SOLUTION
4C worked alongside the programme team to establish the new organisation and prepare it for upcoming procurement activity.
- Embedded a dedicated team of commercial and procurement specialists
- Established partnership agreements across the wider programme
- Designed and implemented the commercial transition plan for the new organisation
- Developed the governance and processes required to support effective procurement
- Prepared the organisation for competitive engagement with major engineering and construction partners
The engagement established immediate commercial capability while creating a scalable foundation for future procurement and programme delivery.
