SUCCESS STORY
Helping a manufacturer to help itself and dramatically cut machinery breakdowns
- A leading supplier of aerospace systems and components, renowned for its innovative and high-quality solutions, with a workforce of over 15,000 employees across more than 40 manufacturing sites in 13 countries.
our impact
This client had a lot of advanced manufacturing technology on-site and knew it was important to protect those assets from breakdowns and deterioration in order to survive the pandemic.
The TPM Asset Care programme that we applied uses a modular training approach, which allows participants to take bite-size chunks of learning, apply them on the shop floor and then go back to the classroom to verify their learnings. By training personnel in this way we were able to leave the client with its own competent trainers to expand the programme across multiple sites.
the Business challenge
The client faced significant challenges in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of advanced manufacturing technologies. Frequent breakdowns and equipment deterioration threatened to disrupt operations, particularly during the heightened pressures of the global pandemic.
Our Approach
We trained 11 practitioners in TPM to ensure self-sufficiency across multiple sites
Henkan implemented a modular learning strategy, combining classroom and hands-on training with a pilot NDT rig
We realised an 88% reduction in breakdowns
We achieved a 500% increase in the meantime between failures
I’d like to thank the Henkan team. Their approach, the way they drove the process, their collaborative approach, their passion for the subject, their desire to improve our culture… they all really shone through with the team and I think that’s what’s helped us get to the point where we’re at today. I would 100% recommend this programme to anybody thinking of undertaking it. It’s been a real success for us.
